THE Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, yesterday,
explained that in the year 2015, the command arrested 52 suspects,
instituted legal action against four vandals and resolved 11 cases
bordering on vandalism and other related matters in line with the
mandate of the Corps.
Addressing newsmen at the Command’s headquarters in Abakaliki on how the Command faired in 2015, the state Commandant of the Corps, Shuayb Jibril expressed the readiness of the Corps to nip the activities of vandals and illegal petroleum dealers.
The Commandant, who explained that most cases of petroleum pipeline vandalism were reported in Ivo Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, noed that it recorded huge successes because of the existing collaboration between it, communities in Ebonyi, the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, and other sister agencies across the state.
